OCUA is currently seeking an interoffice per diem LVN. This position will be responsible for nursing care under the supervision of physicians and the clinical services manager. Assigned location will depend on need.

Responsibilities Include:

• Obtaining, verifying and recording health history of patients.
• Gathering pertinent health data through physical assessment and biological samples.
• Collecting and processing specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Providing basic patient care as ordered.
• Administering medications and treatments as directed.
• Assisting other health care professionals in performing exams, diagnostic procedures and treatments, and minor medical procedures.
• Adhering to infection control, safety guidelines and confidentiality policies.
• Documenting assessments, interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed and test results in medical records.

Education and Experience Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Graduation from an approved vocational nursing program required
• Current, active state vocational nursing license required
• One year of LVN experience preferred
• Clinic experience preferred

Qualified candidates must have strong interpersonal skills, must be able to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, and effectively communicate and interact with diverse patient populations.

Other Required Qualifications:

• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology.
• Familiarity with health care systems, regulations, policies and functions, and documentation standards.
• Knowledge of equipment, supplies and materials needed for medical treatment.
• Understanding of basic laboratory procedures including preparation and screening.
• Knowledge of infectious disease management and control and safety standards.
• Skill in reading and following written and oral medical orders.
• Skill in initiating appropriate emergency procedures.
• Skill in urinary catheter care preferred.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses.
• Ability to handle effectively multiple tasks simultaneously.
